Buena Park is a family-friendly Orange County city known for the major tourist attractions in its Entertainment Zone District. Also known as the E-Zone, this area of Buena Park features the exciting Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park, Knott’s Soak City water park, and medieval and pirate-themed dinner theaters. Buena Park is located directly to the northeast of Anaheim, around 12 miles northwest of Downtown Santa Ana and 24 miles southeast of Downtown Los Angeles.

Buena Park Downtown features 65 restaurants and retailers across 1.1 million square feet of retail space. This large enclosed shopping mall is anchored by Bed Bath & Beyond, Ross Dress For Less, TJ Maxx, and Walmart. Dining options include all-you-can-eat Japanese cuisine at Aburi Sushi, authentic Texas-style smoked meats at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and flavorful Cajun seafood at The Kickin’ Crab. Buena Park Downtown also has a 24 Hour Fitness and a Krikorian Premiere Theatres multiplex screening all of the latest releases in plush surroundings.

The Source is a stylish contemporary retail complex featuring independent boutiques, dozens of diverse eateries, and several entertainment venues. Enjoy mouthwatering Korean BBQ at Gangnam House, delicious Korean fried chicken at Pelicana, flavorful Vietnamese fare at Main St. Pho & Grill, Japanese noodle bowls at Yoshiharu Ramen, or authentic Mexican dishes and cocktails at La Huasteca. The Source’s numerous entertainment options include catching the latest movie at CGV Cinemas, golf and baseball simulators at Olympic Golf Zone, 16 private karaoke rooms at EKO Karaoke Lounge, a first-class esports competition arena at Ultimate Esport, and a huge 12,000 square foot indoor play park for kids at PlayPie. The Source also has an outdoor stage hosting a varied lineup of live music and events. 

There are many more eclectic restaurants located outside of Buena Park’s large shopping malls. Black Bear Diner is a local favorite for classic American comfort eats served in a rustic woodsy setting. Rock & Brews pairs an elevated menu of burgers, pizzas, and pub grub with a large selection of local craft beers.

Things to Do

Knott’s Berry Farm is one of the most popular amusement parks in California, attracting around four million visitors every year. Sprawled across a 57-acre site, Knott’s Berry Farm features four themed areas with dozens of thrilling rides. The adjacent 15-acre Knott’s Soak City water park opens from May through September with many more fun rides and activities. Highlights here include a 750,000-gallon tidal wave pool, 23 water slides, a family raft ride, and a three-story Beach House with hundreds of water guns and spray features. Medieval Times offers a spectacular display of jousting knights while guests feast on tasty meals. Pirates Dinner Adventure is another fun-filled dining option in E-Zone centering on a faithful recreation of an 18th-century Spanish galleon in a 250,000-gallon lagoon. 

Other popular activities in Buena Park include touring the historic sites of the 1880s Whitaker-Jaynes Estate and Bacon House Museum. Rising into the Coyote Hills at the northeastern edge of the city, Ralph B. Clark Regional Park has hiking and biking trails and sports fields extending across 104 acres of beautiful foothills scenery. Los Coyotes Country Club offers members access to state-of-the-art tennis and fitness facilities as well as 27 holes of premier golfing designed by William Bell Jr.
